RVS is seeking two public members serve on its Audit Committee. The purpose of the audit committee is to assist the Board of Trustees in fulfilling its due diligence for the financial reporting process, the system of internal control over financial reporting, and the audit process.
The Audit Committee meets two times per year, with authority to convene additional meetings, as circumstances require. The next meeting is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 12 from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
The committee is seeking:
Two members of the business community, who are independent to the Division, have no relationship to the audit firm and preferably, who are financially literate.
Membership criteria:
Committee members should be well regarded in their communities and, as a group, have:
- financial literacy, meaning the ability to read and understand complex financial statements and accounting issues;
- independence from the Division, member and spouse cannot be Division employees;
- no relationship to the Board Appointed External Auditors or potential audit firms;
- a guarantee that their employment or involvement in other activities will not place them in a conflict of interest position;
- active residence within the Division.

The audit committee will review and choose public members taking into account experience and background. Interviews may be conducted.
